News!!

The track listing for Louise's third album is as follows:

This album represents Louise herself much better than previous albums, which tended to be prepared in isolation with the sole requirement of Louise turning up and singing the songs. However, on this album Louise was much more intimately and directly involved, having a role to play with all the songs including the writing stage. This is reflected in the lyrics which clearly represent Louise's own thoughts and feelings, and get quite raunchy in places. So those who don't want to know what Louise has been up to with Jamie over the last couple of years had perhaps better not listen (or at least conveniently forget who she no doubt had in mind when she wrote the lyrics!)

Louise has been on pretty much every show under the sun the last few weeks (late June-July 2000) which is a welcome sight after her years in the wilderness, where she spent time 'getting used to being married and adjusting to that life'. The second year of her time away was apparently spent producing the album with two other women. Since she has had a greater input on this album, it is more personal and reflects more her own 'unique' sound and pretty voice. Programs include 'Jim Davidson presents...', 'Select MTV', 'The Box' (where she also features in an interesting 'BoxTalk', and also the usual shows like FBI (dire BBC show) and T4 etc., etc., ... all in the name of publicity! She also sang at the Brighton Party in the Park 2000, to the delight of the many fans who turned up to see her.

This year (2000) Louise came 9th in the FHM top 100 poll, this time topped by Jennifer Lopez. Although worse than her 2nd position last year, this is still a remarkable achievement given the fact she has been away from the business for a good couple of years. Given she is back in the limelight now, who would bet against her climbing back up again next year? This position also makes Louise the most consistent performer in the history of the FHM top 100 poll. No mean feat for the Lewisham lovely.

Previous Stories (mid 1999+)

November 1999: Louise has been asked to appear more than once on US sitcom Friends, but has refused for various reasons every time. It now looks unlikely that she will be featured on the show (despite rumours to the contrary), or so I have been informed! Also, Louise features in this years the Girls of FHM magazine, and is also featured in the FHM 2000 Calendar.

Louise was 25 on the 4th November this year. To mark the event, she celebrated with some friends in London, apparently the location being Stringfellows (im)famous club. The reason for going there was presumably the quality of the club, since Mr. Stringfellow himself is said to be one of the most unpopular men in Britain!

Also, it has been revealed that Louise and William Orbit have produced a couple of tracks from Elbow Beach together. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen, but if it is, the resultant material might prove quite interesting.

October 1999: Louise has recorded a track with Kelle (ex-Eternal) called Superwoman. This will presumably be released as a single at some stage, or feature on Louise's third album when it is released. Kelle also revealed that Louise had been bullied out of Eternal when she decided to leave, since the Bennett sisters had been nasty to her and basically had undermined her confidence and abilities. This was a shock to many Eternal fans who refused to believe it, but to many to Louise fans it did not come as much of a shock; as an undercurrent of uneasiness had clearly been prevalent between Louise and the Bennett sisters, and then of course subsequently between Kelle and the sisters.

So it seems that Louise definitely made the right decision in launching her solo career, as we all knew she had at the time. The second sexiest woman in the year (according to the 1999 FHM poll) certainly did nothing to hurt her credentials by leaving the group, proving she is indeed a talented artist in her own right. It's just a shame that we haven't really heard that much from her. Perhaps she would be better off with management that promotes her interests more and keeps her name circulating in the public's mind. Not that I'm calling for Louise merchandise, though; that seems to be taking things a little bit too far (Spice Girls take your bow...)

Following is a brief look at Louise's musical releases to date

On the 19th August, Undivided Love, track 8 on the Naked album, was released. This also was a 2 CD set. CD1 included dance remixes of 'Undivided Love' by T-Empo, Tin Tin Out and Studio 54. CD2 contained 'Undivided Love', and also two exclusive new songs: How In The World and Better Next Time.

'One Kiss From Heaven' was released from Naked on the 18th of November 1996. It was a two part CD and cassette. The first strictly limited CD contained a card which you could send off to get a free poster.

Up until the release of her second album, on the 6th of October 1997, there had not been much about Louise in the press in 1997. She was nominated for a Brit Award, and also presented a reward with the tanned ex-Take That star Gary Barlow. The new album, which has been out for a while now, has been as successful as Naked, in fact more so, judging by its sales and chart position. In November and December (1997), Louise toured the UK, and was sponsored by Soft and Gentle. The songs performed were mainly taken from the album. The second single to be released from the album was Let's Go Round Again, after the success of Arms Around The World.

One story with regard to Louise during 1997 was the announcement that she had become engaged to the Liverpool footballer Jamie Redknapp..... as of yet they have not announced the date on which they intend to get married, as they both have very busy schedules, so perhaps they don't have any time to think about such things! Anyway, it's progress, especially for two people who were 'definitely just friends' not so long ago!

She has regularly appeared on TV shows during her career to date, and has also been featured more than once in Sky and FHM magazines. Anyhow, the second album Woman in Me contains 16 songs, and there is quite a variety; although a lot of them are quite distinctive in that they sound how you might 'expect' them to sound.... sort of like the Eternal stuff. Overall the album is well worth buying. The next single to be released from the album Woman in Me was All That Matters. The video for this single was a black and white affair. The single was on sale from the 23rd March 1998. The first CD of the two-part set featured three postcards of Louise and an answerphone message(!), whilst the second featured various remixes of All That Matters. The BBC TV program Whatever You Want, featuring Louise and Louise fans, was screened on the 28th March 1998 in the UK.

Her second, and still latest(!), album Woman in Me was even more successful than Naked, having reached number 5 in the UK chart. The first single, Arms Around the World was very successful after its release on the 22nd September 1998, reaching no. 4....the highest position any of her songs have reached in the UK chart. The second single from the album to be released, Let's Go Round Again brought Louise another top 10 hit. She also picked up a couple of awards at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party that year. Her final single release (to date) was All that Matters.
